Topic of the summer school sport camp Ohrid 2022
At the Summer School Sports Camp Ohrid 2022, which is traditionally organized by NMSSF, this year the topic discussed and for which trainings were organized was the fixing of results in sports and the fight against this phenomenon. The basis for this topic is the project ATHLETES-COUNCILORS AGAINST MATCH FIXING, financed by the Erasmus+ program of the EU, in which NMSSF participates as a partner. The camp was organized in two shifts, the first from 27.06 to 2.07 and the second from 4 to 9.07 with the participation of over 160 students and over 30 teachers.
During the first shift of the camp, the best student-athletes of the past year discussed the fight against match-fixing in sports. About 60 students actively participated in the interesting and honest discussion about why results are being fixed, who does it and how it can be prevented, and the debate was moderated by athletes–councilors Daniel Nacevski and Veronika Velkovska, together with Zoran Popovski, national coordinator of this project.
But the athletes- councilors found time to socialize and do some training with the best student-athletes of the last school year. Thus, Veronika Velkovska from the shooting club “Strelec” and Daniel Nacevski from KK Rabotnicki shared their personal experiences in the sport they are engaged in with young shooters and basketball players. We thank them!
Due to the fact that physical education and sports teachers are the key link in the organization of school sports as educators, coaches, referees and parents, they were the target group for the training against fixing results in sports within the framework of the ACAMF project. Within the framework of the first shift of the summer school camp Ohrid, the first sessions were organized in which 11 teachers participated, and they were realized by athletes- councilors Veronika Velkovska and Daniel Nacevski in coordination with prof. Zoran Popovski. We continue in the second shift.
As part of the second shift of the summer sports camp Ohrid 2022, athletes- councilors against match-fixing in sports Ljilja Kovačević, Martina Bogleva and Viktor Veljanoski visited the Summer Sports Camp of NMSSF in Ohrid and with the ninety best student-athletes shared their experiences about this bad phenomenon in sports. The students took an active part in the interesting discussion and contributed to the discovery of the motives, the actors and the consequences of fixing the results.
And in the second shift, the athletes- councilors found time to socialize and do some training with the best student-athletes of the last school year. Thus, the volleyball player Ljilja Kovačević, the soccer player Martina Bogleva and the handball player Viktor Veljanoski shared personal experiences in the sport they are engaged in with the young student-athletes.
And within the second shift, the training sessions against fixing results in sports continued. This time they were realized by the athletes- councilors Ljilja Kovacević, Martina Bogleva and Viktor Veljanoski in coordination with prof. Zoran Popovski. During the discussion, the 9 physical education teachers pointed out numerous examples of the influence of parents, about betting as a generator of fixing results, but they also tried to offer solutions for the prevention and prevention of fixing through legal changes and financial control mechanisms. All attendees of these trainings will receive certificates of participation from NMSSF and the ACAMF project.
