“Athlete Counsellors Against Match Fixing’’ (ACAMF) focused on the Erasmus Plus Collaborative Partnership Sport priority of supporting prevention and raising awareness among stakeholders involved in the fight against match-fixing. The project brought about 30-month cooperation between Sports federations, Sports clubs, academics, and NGOs with a focus on strengthening prevention and contrast on match-fixing at all levels in the sports sector by means of creating methodologies and pilot programs to empower willing Athletes as specialized counselors supporting Sports federations, clubs, stakeholders and fellow Athletes in counteracting the different facets of the match-fixing challenge in their own areas of responsibility/influence. ACAMF drew therefore a connection between integrity in Sport and the necessity of providing Dual Career opportunities supporting professional and semi-professional Athletes in the transition to a life without Sport.
